I hope everybody had a nice Thanksgiving. My holiday was spent with family. I am from a rather large family so there was a lot of people present and a lot of discussions cropping up. One particular discussion is what this entry will be about.

Some people seemed pre-determined to hate. Perhaps it's racial / prejudice / bigot issues. Maybe it's deep down jealousy. But it seems like sometimes there is a person who is determined to hate another person, no matter what. (S)he will purposely mis-interpret everything the other person says to make it seem negative, and insult the other person, either to his face, or behind his back to others, and generally badmouth this other person.

The case that was presented. A young girl, let's call her A, has been hanging out with the same circle of friends for several years. She is not the leader of the group; that would be Q. Now a new girl enters the school. Let's refer to her as B. As time goes by, A and B become friends. A decides that she would like to introduce B to her group of friends. But Q decides she doesn't like B, and will do everything in her power to keep B out of the group.

It's difficult enough being an adolescent without these societal pressures, but it's even worse when you have to make a choice between friends.

Of course, the saddest part, IMHO, is when I see this happening in a group of supposedly adults. How can we expect our society to improve when there is so much hate in the world?
